It is with a heavy heart, we want to let everyone know Brittany passed away just before midnight last night, August 5.

She was not in pain, and was surrounded by Tom, her parents, her brother and his family, myself, Tom’s mom and sister, and several friends. She’s had a wonderful group of people who have been surrounding her, Tom and the family these past few days both in person and from a far, and we will never be able to express how thankful we are for each of you.

While there are truly no words, we know she is at peace and with our Lord in a better place. She was truly the best sister, daughter, wife, friend, coworker, caretaker and so much more than anyone could have ever asked for.

Once arrangements are made, we will share them with for everyone.

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

And I am forever grateful for everyone at UTSW these past few days. You all are a blessing.

From the first few minutes of talking with her I could sense a joy and kindness immediately. I could tell she loved God, and over time during our sessions I heard all sorts of stories about her kids and could tell just how much she loved them. I cried when she told me her cancer had returned, I think because she felt more like a friend than my clinician. But she always brought the same joy and energy to our meetings even though I’m sure she was tired and in pain. I am…

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Breast cancer doesn't have to define you. My blog shares my story and I hope provides a supportive community for others facing similar challenges. With honesty and vulnerability, hear about my experiences and the lessons I have learned along the way. My hope is that this blog will help others find hope and faith in the face of adversity.

Let the posts
come to you.
